How far in advance do you recommend booking a stationer?

I recommend that you book your stationer sooner than later. It’s never too early to get started. Once you know your wedding date and booked your venue, you can start looking for stationers and book their service. If you are looking into sending save-the-dates, you can start booking your stationer a year and a half in advance, as save-the-dates are sent between 9-12 months before your wedding.  If you are just wanting to send wedding invitations, book your stationer at least 8 months before your wedding date as it takes about 2-3 months from design to finish product, depending on it being a custom design and type of printing that you decide will affect your overall process timeline.

Which stationery items do you feel are often forgotten or overlooked?

For traditional RSVPs which are response cards that need to be mailed back to you, postage stamps are often forgotten. The couple must include a paid postage stamp on their RSVP envelopes. Also, when guests forget to write down the names attending and you receive a blank rsvp card back, a little trick - it is good to write a corresponding number on the back of the rsvp card with an invisible ink so you know who it was from.

Which trending 2024 items are you hoping will hit our market?

In 2024, more colors, patterns and unique stationery, squiggly lines and hand-drawn watercolor designs. Bows will be a huge hit this year! It can be seen used as a decor, tied on candles, your menu cards, invitations and basically any wedding stationery that you can think of, bows can be incorporated to that.

What else would you like people to know about the stationery industry?

The stationery industry is often overlooked at when it comes to wedding planning. It is not just a piece of paper and an envelope. Stationery items can become a decor or statement piece of your wedding. Various materials can be used such as leather, wood, acrylic, mirror, glass/vases/pots, cloth/linen and etc.

Many have forgotten that your save-the-dates and wedding invitations are not just the first glimpse of your guests for your special day, but also a tangible representation of your love and a symbol you can hold and keep.
